Discreet and considerate technology
Almost every major house renovation these days incorporates new technology into the design and this striking Queen Anne manor house is no exception. It has undergone a massive transformation by Llama Group and Janey Butler Interiors, incorporating a contemporary extension, all complemented by a beautiful landscaping scheme and the high quality finished of Janey Butler Interiors.
Behind the original walls of this house are some great technological features within a comprehensive home automation system; namely 16 audio zones using Sonos, 4k distribution to all televisions, full heating control, and gate entry. There is full Lutron lighting control, which wasn’t as straight forward as it sounds due to the listed status of the building limiting the cabling, so the solution had to be wireless. The beauty of this system is that you have to look hard to find it. Even the dedicated cinema, often a focal point, is housed in the vaulted basement giving it the perfect backdrop for those times when you want to curl up and relax.
Crestron provides the main control both behind the scenes and discreetly within the rooms with in-wall Crestron panels, programmed with full Sonos app control, and a number of dedicated hand-held remotes. The televisions in the two main lounges are both fitted with Future Automation technology. The formal lounge tucks the television away in a recess while out of use and the informal lounge cunningly hides it within a cabinet which it rises out of when in use. Both reinforce the joy of hidden technology.
As with all of our jobs, the house is fitted with our remote monitoring service which gives the family peace of mind that should anything not work as it should, someone is there to help.
With special thanks for Llama Group and Janey Butler Interiors for involving us in the project and for the use of their stunning photography.
