Often, clients will look to us to propose what can be done and what will work for their property. Not this time - our client put on his “blue-sky” thinking cap and it was our job to find a way to make it all happen. He wanted to take his basement car park and change it into a one-of-a-kind man-cave with the centre-piece being a rotating turntable to park and display one of his supercars.
Combined with this he wanted the fun factor turned up to eleven, with an HD distribution system to the games room, HiFi audio distribution throughout and a space that bristles with hidden sensors to give the cave an intelligence of its own. Whilst the space is impressive in itself, the automation is where the wow factor really comes into play.
With over 15 sensors in the area, working with magnetic flux vehicle detention sensors in the driveway and underneath the cars, we can gain information allowing us to carry out some very clever features. We can identify when a vehicle has entered the garage, and then when it is parked we can then start up a predefined playlist of background music over the vehicle with his and hers presets depending on which car it is that arrived home! The system also senses when it’s not in use, so that the vehicle will always come to rest with the car pointing outwards, ready to leave the garage.
It all sounds amazing, but what did the client think?
“From initial concepts and meetings with Ultamation through to completion, the space has transformed into more than I could have ever hoped for and the level of automation and intelligent control we have in there adds genuine convenience, on top of the obvious wow factor. I couldn’t be happier with the performance and customisation that my Crestron system affords me and from the reactions of my guests on New Year’s everyone else is blown away too!”
