We've gone PODtastic!

Over the last few weeks Oliver has been asked to participate in two podcast that have been created specifically for the Custom Installation industry (we're guessing he's become so popular on the back of our recent global award win ;-)).

The first one being The Integrated Home Podcast.  This is a relatively new podcast hosted by Jeff Hayward, which is growing each week in popularity.  Episode 6 was hosted by Bespoke Cinemas in Leeds where owners Melanie and Gifford Malcolm opened up their cinema showroom for the discussions, which amongst other things included passing off, recruitment issues and Yoda.  They discuss how you respond when a competitor uses photographs from your projects and passes it off as their own work.  Recruitment is the other hot topic where they talk about the CEDIA apprenticeship scheme, working with local universities, University of Liverpool in our case, and some amusing recruitment anecdotes.  If you want to understand the Yoda reference ; well you'll have to listen to it ;-)

You can listen to episode 6 here.

The second one being A State of Control which is hosted by AV Nation.  They broadcast a regular podcast and video discussing the latest topics within the industry and bringing in experts to add their viewpoint. This week host Steve Greenblatt from Control Concepts invited Oliver, Richard Fregosa from Fregosa Design and Scott Samsal from Greenpoint TDI to discuss web versus AV.  With the increased interest in automation, IoT and voice control within the AV market, the need for a dedicated user interface for AV systems have been a challenge.  How can the industry innovate to stay ahead of the curve? They also discuss the future of user interface design and where they will fit with the current line of control system interface designs.
